Evening event in Nantes on 24 November 2015

On 24 November, on the banks of the Loire in Nantes, Vendée Tourisme hosted more than 150 businesses from the Nantes region. The aim of the event was to present its business tourism offering.

The evening event took place at the Nautilus, a magical, stunning floating venue moored on the Ile de Nantes. It was also a chance to present the 2016 Vendée Globe yacht race, less than a year before the race begins.
The Director of the Vendée public-private partnership (SAEM) presented details of the race, the sailors involved and the media coverage of the "leading sporting event on French soil" (188 million media appearances in 2012).
Alain Gautier, winner of the 1992-1993 Vendée Globe, then spoke about the emotion associated with such an event. "The Vendée Globe is a matter of the heart," he explained.
The guests then heard about the communication possibilities open to businesses in connection with a global event such as the Vendée Globe.
Nantes-based agency Windreport', which is supporting three of the pre-registered sailors for the 2016 edition, focused on the highly attractive sponsorship options. Yannick Perrigot, the agency's Director and partner of young sailor Nicolas Boidevezi (adopteunskipper.com), then made a direct appeal. "He needs another €1 million to make ends meet," he said. Show Time, the Vendée-based event management agency responsible for marketing services at the Vendée Globe Village corporate area (15 October to 6 November 2016), then presented its highly motivated team and the services on offer.
Wilfried Montassier, President of Vendée Expansion, Adeline Calloch, Head of Business Development at Saint-Jean-de-Monts Activités, and Armel De Laage, Director of Hôtel Mercure Côte Ouest (3 stars) in Les Sables-d'Olonne, spoke about the business tourism services offered by Vendée Tourisme and its local partners (seminars, conferences, team-building events, public relations).
The guests were then treated to a magnificent buffet prepared by Le Val d'Evre, official caterer to the Vendée Globe, and a chance to taste traditional local produce such as PASO "préfous", Noirmoutier oysters and Fiefs Vendéens wines from the Mourat estate.

This sociable evening ended with a prize draw, featuring prizes donated by a range of business tourism operators in Vendée.
