Port de la Meule - L'île d'Yeu

Walking round the whole of the island of Yeu is very doable  Setting off from Port Joinville, you head north and go along the wild hilly coast. The route follows footpaths and designated paths, which are not signposted. Explore the Vieux Château fort and the small port of La Meule. A pleasant descent takes you there. Then it's on to the fine sandy beaches.You will fall for the unusual charms of the small bays.

Noirmoutier, is a tonic, set between the white of the sea and salt marshes, the green of the woods and the golden dunes and beaches. There is vibrant heritage to explore in the fishing ports, oyster beds, and more. Don't miss the famous Passage du Gois, a 4 km-long submersible road between Beauvoir-sur-Mer and Noirmoutier Island.
