JARDIN DE WILLIAM CHRISTIE - THIRE

jardin-thiré-85-pcu-5

Classified as a Historic Monument and a Remarkable Garden. The illustrious chef William Christie was inspired, among other things, by the Mannerist and Baroque gardens in Italy and France.

Arround a 17th century dwelling, this garden was created in 1987 by the orchestra conductor William Christie who found inspiration in the Mannerist style gardens and Italian and French baroque ones.
The boxwood beds, the yew and hornbeam hedges, the lime tree mails follow one another on the terrace and form an architecture as skilful as it is seductive. You can also note, the cloister planted with yews and roses, the greenery theatre in Chinese style as well as the boxwood embroideries, the rustic pergola and the rose garden. A water mirror surrounded by plane trees completes the set.
