The Montois Forest ... With 80% of the forest, dunes and marshes protected, Notre Dame de Monts offers a breath of fresh air. The Montois Forest is home to a wide variety of dune flora and fauna. At the Maison de la Dune et de la Forêt, you will be helped, through exhibitions and discovery walks, to know and recognize the flora and fauna which thrive there. Pine, oak and cypress are the main species present in the Montois Forest. Do take time out to visit the Arboretum de la Parée Farfadets to discover the variety of trees. It is free and open to all. Nature is a bike-ride away! To extend this encounter with nature, how about a hike or a bike ride? Certainly, the 60km trail will challenge you.

MAISON DU MAÎTRE DE DIGUESCHAILLE-LES-MARAIS
In the heart of the Marais Poitevin Regional Natural Park, the Maison du Maître de Digues presents the history of a territory. Play book for children (7 years old and over). Animals on site.
Maison Gelencser has been producing hand-made chocolates since 1956. Come on a voyage to discover chocolate over the centuries; discover the history of the cocoa bean.
Discover the history of Les Sables d'Olonne and the Vendée during WWII. Explanatory and illustrated panels, captivating film of 15 mn. Realistic scenes with 45 manikins will plunge you into the WWII atmosphere. Authentic hospital-bunker with operating theatre in action during August 1944, following a naval and air battle in front the Sables harbour, until the arrival of the French Resistance. The 20 rooms of this rare hospital blockhouse, frozen in their exceptional original state for over 70 years, have been carefully refurnished. Duration : 1 hour. 7,50€/adult, 5,50€/5-12 years old (with treasure hunt), free for First World War veteran. Open daily 10 am-7 pm (6 pm from October de December). Last admission at 5 pm. Closed in January.
