MARAIS SALANTS DE LA VIE

SAINT HILAIRE DE RIEZ

Created by man in the 7th century A.D. and worked again in the 1960s, these salt marshes were restored to their former state in 1995 by volunteers.

Let the salter be your guide as he takes you on a journey into the surprising world of the salt industry, and learn the secrets of the salt collection process.
Inside the salt store, discover the history of the marshes and the various stages of salt formation via our exhibition and displays.
Afterwards, Anthony OGER, salter of the Marais de l’Etoile, will invite you to discover his “Sel de Vie”, his cooking salt and his “fleur de sel”.

Opening times:
June and September: Tuesday to Sunday from 2:30pm to 6:30pm.
July and August: Monday to Saturday from 10:00am to 12:30pm and from 2:30pm to 6:30 pm. From 2:30pm to 6:30pm on Sundays.
Guided visits at 11:00am, 4:00pm and 5:30pm (and 3:00pm from mid-July to August, 31st).

Admission:
Adult: 3,50 €
Child (11-18) / Student: 2 €
Free for children under 11.
Annual pass: 3 €
