MUSEE DE FONTENAY LE COMTE

FONTENAY LE COMTE

Founded in 1875, the Fontenay Museum was declared a “Musée de France” in 2003 and counts amongst its exhibits a remarkable collection of Gallo-Roman glassware and a collection of local Vendée furniture which bears witness to the skills of the 19th century guilds.

There is a fine art gallery displaying works by representatives of the 19th and 20th century creative art movement in the Vendée
- Paul Baudry, Charles Milcendeau, Gaston Chaissac
- and a host of other treasures waiting to be discovered.
All the year round: temporary exhibitions, workshops and birthday parties for 5-12 year olds, guided tours of the collections.
