This municipal museum is housed in a building dating back to the 17th century.
The museum is home to an important collection of modern and contemporary art, primarily comprising the work of Chaissac and Brauner, but also featuring works by Baselitz, Combas,
Dubuffet, Hortala, Lefranc, Magnelli, Marquet and Verschaere.
An attic room is devoted to the ethnography of sea-bathing and the fishing port of Les Sables d’Olonne and includes boat paintings
by Paul-Emile Pajot and shell pictures by Paul Amar and Hippolyte Massé.
During 2012, there will be exhibitions showcasing the works of François BOISROND, Marlène MOCQUET, Gaston CHAISSAC, Jean-
Luc JEHAN, Explorateurs, L’Heure du Bain, Emanuel PROWELLER, Alexandre IACOVLEFF, Jean-Michel SANEJOUAND..

From 16th/09 to 14th/06: every afternoon (except Monday) from 2:30pm to 5:30pm.
From 15th/06 to 15th/09: daily (except Monday) from 1:00pm to 7:00pm.
