MUSEE DE L’AUTOMOBILE

TALMONT SAINT HILAIRE

Welcome to the Vendée Automobile Museum, a fascinating collection of vehicles started by Gaston GIRON in 1939 and added to over time.

One family’s passion for engineering and cars has ensured the preservation of over 200 vehicles (cars, bicycles, motorcycles and horse-drawn carriages) dating from as far back as 1885 but also including prototypes of future models.
160 of them are displayed in a vast 3,300 m² hall, which is decorated with a remarkable collection of period posters and billboards. The museum also features a reconstruction of Giron’s first garage from 1929.

Opening times:
From 1st/04 to 31st/05: 9:30am to 12:00pm and 2:00pm to 6:30pm.
From 1st/06 to 31st/08: 9:30am to 7:00pm.
From 1st/09 to 1st/10: 9.30 am to 12:00pm and 2:00pm to 6:30pm.

Admission:
Adult: 10 €
Child (under 12 years old): 6 €
Free for children under 5 years old.
