MUSEE DES USTENSILES DE CUISINE ANCIENS

SAINT DENIS LA CHEVASSE

This charming museum, housed in 19th century teachers’ lodgings in the heart of the village, is the first one of its kind in France devoted entirely to the development of kitchen utensils through the ages.

There are six exhibition rooms, each featuring a different kitchen activity, such as cooking and baking, pastry-making, preserving etc. The museum boasts some superb collections dating from the 17th to the 20th century.
There are educational games to entertain the kids (7-12) and visitors can purchase ancient recipes, recipe books and local products.
Temporary exhibitions cover a different theme each year.

Opening times:
From 1st/05 to 30th/06 & 1st/09 to 1st/11: Sundays and bank days from 2:30pm to 6:30pm.
From 1st/07 to 31st/08: everyday from 2:30pm to 6:30pm.

Admission:
Adult: 4,50 €
Child (7-15): 1 €
Reduced for groups.
