MAISON DE LA MEUNERIE

NIEUL SUR L’AUTISE

This watermill is above all a working mill; the miller produces wheat and buckwheat flour for bakers and the restaurant trade in an area stretching from Pouliguen to the Ile de Ré.

Audiovisual effects in each of the rooms provide visitors with a running commentary which helps them to understand the workings of the mill and the life of a miller in the 1920s; the two rooms comprising the living quarters are preserved in their entirety.
In the adjoining buildings (open for unescorted tours) are a clog-maker’s workshop, the former washhouse, the bread oven and a shop selling regional produce.

Opening times:
From 8th/04 to 30th/04: from 2:00 m to 6:00pm (except Saturdays).
May (week-end & bank holidays): from 2:00pm to 6:00pm.
June & September: from 10:30am to 7:00pm (except Saturdays).
July & August: everyday from 10:30am to 7:00pm.
Groups : booking compulsory all year.

Admission:
Adult: 5 €
Child (7-18): 3 €
Free for children under 7.
