AURORE THUAULT, BRODEUSE CONTEMPORAINE
Description
Aurore Thuault, a contemporary embroiderer, has recently moved to the art village of Beaulieu sous la Roche in the Vendée.
Thanks to her family heritage - and certainly to an innate gift - Aurore has been working for several years to elevate embroidery to the level of contemporary art. Her mastery of a wide range of techniques and tools, as well as the diversity of her supplies, result in surprising creations whose rich, intense, often geometric designs have the good taste to always remain sober and balanced. It's no coincidence that many haute couture houses, including Chanel, Saint Laurent, Jean Paul Gaultier and Nina Ricci, call on Aurore's creativity and virtuosity to embellish their creations.
If embroidery is perceived as an old-fashioned, feminine or kitsch art, carried out by ladies of a venerable age, Aurore knows how to bring this craft back to the present day, breaking with convention by her unique way of combining creative vision and virtuoso execution, noble materials and trivial supplies, geometric structures and organic inspirations. The result is unexpected splendour, a tribute to nature itself and to the human imagination.
