Built in 1578, the building was originally a small fortress with four towers, ramparts and a drawbridge. It has since been modified (the ramparts and one tower have been removed). Today, the château comprises two main buildings.
The property was bought in 1855 by a certain Charles Duchaine. His descendants still own it today.
Listed as a Historic Monument in 1978.
