Opening on 19 May 2019, a new museum, L'hôtel Jacobsen, centre des patrimoines maritimes, welcomes you to a 10-room tour.
Thanks to new technologies and the latest scientific findings, you can discover maritime heritage in all its different forms:
- An animated map showing the formation of the island
- interview screens on the polders, the Gois Passage and sea defences
- the decorative arts room (harbour furniture, Chinese porcelain, etc.)
- navigation and trade
- the seaside phenomenon... are presented in a shipowner's mansion dating from 1761, enlarged around 1802 and listed as a Historic Monument for its neo-classical decor, wood panelling and rooms decorated with 18th-century wallpaper, which have been restored and refurnished.
Open from 4 February to 6 November 2023 and Christmas holidays.
July/August: daily from 10am to 7pm.
School holidays and from February to All Saints' Day: open from 10am to 12.30pm and from 2.30pm to 6pm. Closed on Fridays.
(Christmas holidays: closed on 24 and 25 December, 31 December and 1 January).

From July: 2 guided tours a day are offered by the Hotel Jacobsen: 3.30pm and 5pm.
