It 's home to the largest collection of working medieval war machines in Europe, which visitors can learn about first hand through shows and events run by the Vendée department.
From the Roman catapult to the throwing machines from the Middle Ages discover a total of 15 medieval war and siege machines, including France’s largest trebuchet, and try your hand at working the crane or the bricole throwing machine…
An immersion for the whole family including a 3D film in the heart of the castle with stunning special effects that will transport you back to the time of Gilles de Rais.
