La Chaize-le-Vicomte was bequeathed some 2,000 naturalised birds and 71 marine and terrestrial molluscs, with over 400 specimens on display to the public. How many will you recognise?
Just a stone's throw from the church, visit zoologist Charles Payraudeau's astonishing collection of over 1,200 naturalised birds from the western Palaearctic and 800 naturalised birds from the southern hemisphere (equatorial Africa, South America, Australia, etc.).
