The Oudairies urban park is a natural park that has retained the soul of a rustic garden.
The park extends over 9.5 hectares, 4 of which are wooded, around a magnificent dwelling (dating back to the 14th century).
Its open environments (lawns, meadows, clearings) alternate with closed environments (dense undergrowth). The town of La Roche-sur-Yon is committed to more ecological management of its green spaces. This area has been classified as an LPO refuge. You can walk through the wild grasses or come across brambles, both of which contribute to biodiversity and are a sign of careful management. The rose garden invites you to discover the scents of its ancient, climbing and landscape varieties. It is also home to a legion of little soldiers: ladybirds, which can devour up to 150 aphids a day, have long since replaced chemical insecticides.
Many events take place on the site, including the fireworks display on 14 July.
